Based on a 1938 design, originally conceived as a pitcher, the BERNADOTTE carafe maintains its original form for a unique combination where old meets new. The designer, Prince Sigvard Bernadotte, son of Swedish King Gustav VI Adolf, designed a series of silver objects throughout his life, bringing a Scandinavian sensibility to each of his designs. The original Bernadotte pitcher dates back to the functionalism period, an important movement in the design world that gave this object a timeless aesthetic, with an ever-evolving form, combining beauty with utility. The empty pitcher was Sigvard Bernadotte’s last creation.
